Tips For Frequent Travelers to Prevent Travel-Related Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Frequent fliers know better than anyone else the cramps and pains of sitting for long hours, armed with a meager small bag of belongings, a Sky Shopping catalog and an airplane safety guide. Especially in Coach, it's at best mildly comfortable, but mostly cramped and confined. This is an all too familiar scenario for the lives of frequent business travelers, flight attendants, and pilots. It even has its own name - "Economy Class Syndrome" to describe the cramped quarters and dehydration that often occurs in travelers during extensive flights, bus rides, car drives, and train rides. For those who go through the long haul of travel on a weekly, or even daily basis, you're at higher risk for Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and the fatal Pulmonary Embolism (PE).
