The Poles of Pole Dancing

In pole dancing, the standard pole being used typically consists of a hollow steel or brass pole. The pole has a circular cross section that runs from the floor to the ceiling. The best way to stabilize the bar is by affixing it to the ceiling. However, this is not always possible especially at night clubs that have higher ceilings and also in transportable pole dance floors. Poles used in the United States are typically around 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter. This allows it to be gripped comfortably with one hand. The diameter used in Asia is slightly smaller at 45 mm or less.
