MSK Or Medullary Sponge Kidney
"Medullary sponge kidney" or" MSK" is a medical condition that is present at birth and affects the tubules of the kidneys which are the tiny tubes that urine flows through as it is being formed. This condition is typically not diagnosed until later on in life between the ages of ten and thirty years and is then generally only detected when an individual is undergoing testing for other medical conditions or when the MSK has caused complications such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, or hematuria which is blood in the urine.
