Nail biting is an obsessive compulsive habit known as onychophagia that is extremely hard to get rid of, especially if it is has been going on for years. Whether it is a result of nervousness, anxiety or you simply bite when you are stressed out, it is an addiction that needs to be stopped. Nail biting can have serious health repercussions due to the bacteria that gets caught under your nails. When you bite your nails or chew the skin around the edges you are at risk of consuming the nasty bacteria, which can make you sick.
